Celebration of life for Michael Rodney Tenequer, age 58, an Atoka, OK resident. Michael was born on Thursday, December 7, 1967, to Roger Tenequer and Betty Margaret (Lewis) Tenequer, at Talihina, OK. Michael went to glory on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Atoka, OK in the comfort of his own home. Michael attended Atoka High School and enjoyed being a Wampus Cat through and through. Then, he went to trade school at ATI in Dallas for HVAC. While Michael lived in Dallas he worked in a warehouse. Later, Michael was a Fabricator for Atoka Trailers. Michael met Lucreta, the love of his life, and at times the thorn in his side (or vice-versa) in August of 1996. They later married on Friday, September 24th, 2010 in Ada, OK. Michael was affiliated with Hillcrest Baptist church when he was a young child. There he discovered the Lord as his Savior and was baptised alongside his brother, Jimmy Murphy. Michael later joined Bethany Baptist with his mother and Granny, Nannie Lewis. Michael and his Granny were close and she thought he could do no wrong. His Granny enjoyed checking Michael out of school early and taking him out to eat, making precious memories for the two. Michael enjoyed music and was an 80’s metal child. Motley Crue, Skid-Row, George Strait, Keith Whitley, and many more were always playing in his vehicle and at cookouts. Michael was also close to his aunt Faye and when he moved to Dallas, Aunt Faye and he loved to go “piddling” for the day. Michael loved all sports, especially OU Football. BOOMER SOONER! Michael enjoyed attending football games from the Wampus Cats to OU games, and fulfilled a dream by going to the Cowboys Stadium to cheer on “Dem boyz.” Michael loved having cookouts with his family and friends; and playing dominoes, with Jared giving him a run for his money. When the football season was over, basketball was on. Michael loved the OKC Thunder and rooted for them on. Michael enjoyed being with his grandchildren and loved them dearly. When Michael fell sick, he always remained positive. Michael knew that his faith would help him through any turmoil, and of course, with the love and help from his family and his Davita Family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lucreta Lizette Tenequer of the home in Atoka, OK; son, Chris Tenequer of Byng, OK, daughter, Jessica Tenequer and Michael of Atoka, OK, step-daughter, Breanna Roberts of Durant, OK; son, Chase Tenequer and Shyanne of Atoka, OK; son, Jared Tenequer of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Jacklyn Tenequer of Atoka, OK, Landin Tenequer of Byng, OK, Jennifer Mann of Atoka, OK, Landry Tenequer of Byng, OK, Paisley Tenequer of Atoka, OK, Emery Tenequer of Atoka, OK, Lilah Tenequer of Durant, OK, Charlie Tenequer of Atoka, OK; mother, Margaret Tenequer of Atoka, OK; father, Roger Tenequer of Lawton, OK; brother, Jimmy Murphy Jr. and wife Sharolyn of Mustang, Ok. Michael left behind numerous cousins, relatives, and many dear friends. He loved everyone and enjoyed catching up with them whenever he had a chance.
Michael was preceded in death by his daughter,: Shyatesa Michelle Tenequer; aunt, Faye Lewis; uncle, Jimmy Murphy Sr.; grandparents, Nannie Lewis & Edward Lewis; great grandparents, Betty and Jesse Lewis.
