Keith Rounsaville
Keith Rounsaville

With deep sorrow but even greater love in our hearts, we announce the passing of Keith Lendle Rounsaville, age 68, of Fort Collins, Colorado. Keith died on February 11, 2026, at Poudre Valley Hospital, while bravely fighting vasculitis and Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Keith was born on March 19, 1957 in Mena Arkansas, to Glo and Eddy Ann (Harper) Rounsaville. Glo was in the Air Force, so the family moved all over the country and Keith’s childhood included stays in Georgia, New York, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Guam, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Keith attended Oklahoma State University earning a degree in wildlife biology and working for the US Forest Service in Wyoming each summer. Keith fell in love with the west and moved to Laramie, Wyoming after graduation.
Keith and Cava met in Wyoming, Keith living in Laramie, Cava in Jackson, and after a series of exorbitant long distance phone bills, they decided to get married instead of commuting and calling. They were married on October 17, 1981, in Riverton, Wyoming at the Rein Farm, in the middle of hunting season. True Love!
They decided Ft. Collins was the ideal place to be and moved there, with no jobs, after the honeymoon. Optimism prevailed and they started their family in 1982 with the birth of Travis, and Ciara in 1985. While raising Ciara and Travis, the family lived in Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs. Keith was a kind, gentle, and loving father. Cherished times included Travis’ football games, Ciara’s soccer games, fishing, camping, hunting, watching the Broncos and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Keith retired as a program manager for Cherokee Nation Businesses at the end of 2020, following a successful career as a Certified Mapping Scientist specializing in Geographic Information Systems. Keith was known for his management skills and servant leadership. Keith also valued volunteer service and was active in his church and community as a Stephen Minister and delivering for Meals on Wheels.
Keith found joy each morning drinking coffee in the living room with his wife Cava. He loved spending time in nature, especially while fishing, kayaking, and hunting. Most of all, Keith loved spending time with his family, from long phone calls and kitchen table chats to large holiday gatherings. He especially enjoyed his most recent role as “Rawr” to his grandchildren, Caleb and Kinsley. Keith lived in anticipation of the next big family adventure, including a recent family gathering in Oklahoma to celebrate his mother Eddy Ann’s 90th birthday.
Keith is survived by his wife Cava (Rein) Rounsaville, son Travis Rein Rounsaville, daughter-in-law Thea Barela-Rounsaville of Fort Collins, Colorado, daughter Ciara Lynn (Rounsaville) Davies, son-in-law David Davies, grandchildren Caleb Rein Davies and Kinsley Taylor Davies of Denver, Colorado, his mother Eddy Ann (Harper) Rounsaville of Norman, Oklahoma, brother Michael Rounsaville, sisterin- law Denise (McKinney) Rounsaville of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, brother Paul Rounsaville, retired Colonel US Army, sister-in-law Taylor Ann (McMillian) Rounsaville of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is survived by sisters in law, Susan Rein of Denver, Beth (Rein) Phelps and husband James Phelps of St. Charles, Missouri, Robin (Rein) Herd of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Lynn (Rein) Korsick and husband Kevin Korsick of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He is also survived by his aunt Patricia (Harper) McGarry of N. Andover, Massachusetts, and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
