Dennis James Powell, age 64, a longtime Atoka, OK resident.

He was born on Friday, April 13, 1962, to James Lester and Artie Bee (Henderson) Powell, at Atoka, OK.

Dennis passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at his home in Bentley, OK.

64 years, 3 months and 18 days.

He attended Harmony Schools before graduating from Atoka High School. He went on to attend tech school for mud engineering.

Dennis worked for Summit Utilities for 39 years as a service tech, he retired on April 1st of 2024.

He married Reynella Kay Fox on Friday, September 2nd, 1988 at Durant, OK. They have been blessed with 38 years together.

Dennis loved and cherished his family time with his children and grandchildren. He was a longtime member and leader of worship at Church of the First Born in Atoka and was always reading his Bible. Dennis enjoyed any kind of hunting, fishing, and raising his cattle. He was very proud of his cattle and farm, working very hard all of his life. Dennis loved watching western movies especially Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show.

CHILDREN: Sabrina Williams and husband Stacey of Harmony, OK, Tyler Powell and Lexi Pfaff of Lane, OK, Chelsie Powell and Toby Settlemire of Boggy Depot, OK GRANDCHILDREN: Lizzie Powell of Boggy Depot, OK, Tate Powell of Atoka, OK, Lillie Williams of Harmony, OK ADDITIONAL GRANDCHILDREN: Bryce Williams, Kristan Williams, Bradyn, Macy, Jake, and Luke Settlemire, Ryder and Bo Pfaff GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Newt, Forrest, Legend, Sunny, Zane, Mia, Wrenlee, Ellie BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Steve Hyatt of Atoka, OK, Brad Fox of Caney, OK, Brandon Fox of Caney, OK NEPHEWS: Randy Hyatt and Wife Amy, Jered Hyatt and wife Jessica, BO Fox and wife Jade NIECES: Jamie Pilkington and husband Chase, Cherry Cook and husband Lane, Maddie Fox, Tori Hardman and husband Tuff.

Along with numerous cousins, church family, and many loved and dear friends.
